Delete Your Account

You can request deletion of your TanksConnected account and associated personal data at any time.

Account deletion requests are reviewed manually so we can confirm the correct account and safely remove or anonymise associated data.

How to request account deletion

  1. Open the TanksConnected support form.
  2. State clearly that you are requesting deletion of your TanksConnected account.
  3. Provide the email address associated with the account so we can identify the correct account.
  4. We may contact you using the registered account email if verification is required before deletion.

You do not need to install the Android app to submit a deletion request. The request page is publicly available through the TanksConnected website.

What will be deleted or anonymised

Subject to the exceptions described below, an approved account deletion request may include deletion or anonymisation of:

  • Your TanksConnected user account and profile information.
  • Your name, display name, email address, biography, avatar, and other account profile data.
  • Saved aquarium, livestock, maintenance, water-test, and related account data.
  • Private account preferences and notification settings.
  • Other personal information directly associated with the account where it is no longer required.

Community and shared content

Public or shared content such as community posts, comments, chat activity, reports, or other contributions may be removed, anonymised, or retained without identifying account information where necessary to preserve conversations, moderation history, site integrity, or the rights and safety of other users.

Information that may be retained

Some limited information may be retained where reasonably necessary for security, fraud and abuse prevention, moderation, legal obligations, dispute resolution, audit records, or backup integrity.

Backup copies may remain for a limited period until normal backup rotation removes them. Retained information will not be kept longer than reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it is retained.

Delete some data without deleting your account

If you want particular personal information or content reviewed or removed without closing your entire account, you can also submit a request through the support form. Whether particular data can be removed will depend on the type of information and why it is held.
