Accepted scientific name
Osteogaster aenea
Alternative names
Albino Bronze Cory, Albino Corydoras, Corydoras aeneus var., Corydoras aeneus
Native range
Domestic albino form of Osteogaster aenea; wild bronze-colour populations occur widely across northern/eastern South America under the traditional aeneus complex.
Natural habitat
Domestic form with the same basic needs as Bronze Corydoras: fine substrate, shaded cover, clean oxygenated water and moderate circulation.
Diet & feeding
Feed dedicated sinking catfish foods with varied frozen/live invertebrates. Do not treat Corydoras as scavengers that can live on leftovers.
Breeding & sexing
Research-backed guidance for identifying sexes and reproductive behaviour.
Sexing
Females grow larger and broader when viewed from above; males are slimmer and often slightly smaller.
Breeding
Egg layer using the typical Corydoradinae T-position; adhesive eggs are deposited on plants, décor or glass.
